Stratigraphie range: This species was first described by BOLLI (1957) from the Paleocene of the lower Lizard Springs formation in Trinidad, "/here it is found to characterize the G. uncinata zone. BOLLI & CITA (I960) recorded this species from the Paleo­cene of the Paderno d'Adda section in northern Italy. SAID & SABRY (1964-) described G. uncinata from the Landenian, where it is found to characterize the Globorotalia uncinata zo­ne of Gebel Aweina, Nile Valley, Egypt. EL NAGGAR (1966) recorded this species from the upper Danian till the lower part of the middle Paleocene, in the Esna - Idfu region , Egypt . Globorotalia varianta (SUBBOTINA) (pl. III. fig. 6; pl. Description: Test medium, low trochospiral, the dorsal side nearly flat, the ventral side convex; composed of 2 ^ whorls, the first whorl is small in comparison with the second whorl.
