BOLLI & CITA (i960) recorded this species from the Paleocene of the Paderno d'Adda section of northern Italy. HILLEBRANDT (1962) identified and figured the same species from the Montian of the basin of Reichenhall and Salzburg, Austria. In Egypt, SAID & SABRY (1964) recorded this species from the Landenian of Gebel Aweina, Nile Valley. Recently EL NAGGAR (1966) described G. pusilla pusilla from the middle Paleocene of the Esna - Idfu region, Nile Valley. Globorotalia quadrata NAKKADY & TALAAT (pi. III. fig. 3; pl. X. fig. 1.) 1959 Globorotalia quadrata NAKKADY & TALAAT, new species. ­NAKKADY, p. 462, pi. 7, figs. 3a-c. 1966 Globorotalia quadrata (WHITE). - EL NAGGAR, p. 233, pi. 18, figs. 4a-c. Description : Test medium, quadrate, very low trochospiral, com­posed of 2 ^ whorls, dorsal side flattened, ventral side infla­ted. Equatorial periphery distinctly lobate; axial periphery rounded. Chambers arranged in 2 ^ whorls, the last whorl compo­sed of 5 globular, inflated chambers increasing in size, the last one is smaller than the penultimate. Sutures on the dorsal side distinct, curved, depressed; on the ventral side radial and strongly depressed. Wall calcareous, perforate, finely spi­nöse. Umbilicus wide deep and open. Aperture a narrow arch ex­tending from the umbilicus to the periphery. Diameter: 0,45 mm Occurrence : This species occurs in the G. uncinata zone in the studied section.
