Globorotalia pseudoiota (HORNIBROOK) (pl. II, fig. 6: pl. V. fig. 3, pl. X. figs. 2, 6.) 1958 Globigerina pseudoiota HORNIBROOK. - HORNIBROOK, p. 34, pl. 1, figs. 16-18. Description: Test small, very low trochospiral, nearly plani­spiral , composed of 2 whorls. The last whorl is composed of 5 ^ subglobular, slightly inflated chambers, increasing gradually in size as added. Equatorial periphery lobate, axial periphery rounded. Wall calcareous, finely perforate, surface pitted. Su­tures depressed, slightly curved on the dorsal side, radial and straight on the ventral side. Umbilicus small, shallow. Apertu­re a crescentic arch, interiomarginal , extraumbilical-umbilical . Diameter: 0,28 mm Occurrence : Some specimens of this species are found in sample no. 9, in the Taramsa section. Stratigraphie range: HORNIBROOK (1958) described G. pseudoiota from the Waipawan stage. Paleocene, of New Zealand. Remarks : This species must be removed from genus Globigerina to genus Globorotalia owing to the extraumbilical - umbilical po­sition of the aperture. Globorotalia pseudomenardii BOLLI (pl.
