EL NAGGAR recorded G. convexa from the basal part of the G. ve lascoensis zone (upper Paleocene) of the Esna-Idfu region. Globorotalia édita (SUBBOTINA ) (pl. II, fig. 7; pl. IX, fig. 3.) 1953 Globigerina édita SUBBOTINA sp.n. - SUBBOTINA, p. 54, pi. 2, fig. 1. 1961 Globigerina (Eoglobigerina ) pentagona MOROZOVA, sp. nov. - MOROZOVA, p. 13, pl. 1, fig. 3. 1962 Globorotalia (Globorotalia) édita (SUBBOTINA ). - HILLEBRANDT, p. 13O, pi. 11, figs, la, b; 15a, b. Descripti on : Test large, high trochosp irai , consisting of 2 ^ 3 whorls. The dorsal side is high spiral. Equatorial periphery lobate; axial periphery rounded. Chambers globular, the last whorl with 5 spherical chambers of the same dimension.Wall calcareous perforate, surface smooth. Sutures depressed slightly curved in the dorsal and ventral sides. Umbilicus narrow, open. Aperture slit like, extraumbilical-umbilical , with a very thin lip like flap. Diameter: 0,45 mm Occurrence : This species floods the basal part of the studied section, thus characterizing the G. trinidadehsi s / G. édita zone. Stratigraphie range: G. édita was first described by SUBBOTINA (I953) from the Danian, lower part of the Elburgan horizon (zone of "Rotalia like Globorotalias" ) in northern Caucasus, U.S. S.R. HILLEBRANDT (1962) recorded this species from the lowest Paleocene (zone "A 1 " and "B") from the basin of Reichenhall and Salzburg, Austria.
