Description : Test medium, high trochospiral , dorsal side highly convex, ventral side slightly convex. Equatorial periphery lobate, axial periphery rounded. Chambers globular, about 12 arranged in 2 "X whorls, the last 4 w chambers of the last whorl whorl increase slowly in size. Sutures depressed, slightly curved on the spiral side, radial on the umbilical side. Umbilicus narrow open. Wall calcareous perforate, surface pitted. Aperture arched, interiomarginal , umbilical. Diameter: 0,25 - 0,35 mm Occurrence : Some specimens of this species are found in samples no. 8 and 7 Taramsa, section. Stratigraphie range: G. spiralis was first described by BOLLI (1957) from the G. uncinata zone of the lower Lizard Springs formation in Trinidad. LOEBLICH & TAPPAN (1957) recorded this species from the middle Paleocene of the Gulf and Atlantic Coastal Plains. OLSSON (i960) found this species in the Paleocene of the New Jersey, Coastal Plain. HILLEBRANDT (1962) recorded this species from the lowest Paleocene (zone "B") until the upper Paleocene (zone "G") in the basin of Reichenhall and Salzburg, Austria. EL NAGGAR (i960) recorded G. spiralis throughout the upper Danian till the uppermost Paleocene in the Esna-Idfu region, Egypt . 52
