Summary

Is museum education a game? What kind of knowledge and skills does a museum educator need? What is the learning process of the new generations like?

The purpose of this article is to throw light on the specialty of the history based museum education. The Hungarian National Museum has a special space in the Hungarian educational system because of its cultural and historical heritage. The Museum's education department works on finding the newest educational methods, such as gamification, with the hand-on equipment, and with the new resources to improve children's skills.

For further improvement we have compiled a research questionnaire and the article shows its results. It seems that games and experience-based knowledge tend to become more and more popular.
