O. Merkl szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 69. (Budapest, 2008)

SZELEGIEWICZ (1968^) mentioned Defractosiphon seseli MAMONTOVA, 1968, but he did not list MAMONTOVA's paper in the literature. Defractosiphon seseli MAMONTOVA is not listed in the Catalogue because it has never been published. It was a manuscript name. MAMONTOVA changed the name before publication (G. REMAUDIÈRE, pers. comm.). The valid one is Defractosiphon brevisiphon MAMONTOVA, 1968 DISCUSSION This is the first attempt to collect and catalogue all available papers on aphids of Hungary. The 202 available papers provide a more detailed picture on the aphid fauna of Hungary. Several relevant papers are included in this work, which were omitted in the faunistic work of SZELEGIEWICZ & SZALAY-MARZSÓ (2000). The number of known species from Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Serbia and Region Trentino-South Tyrol (Northern Italy) is 199 (Cr), 594 (Hu), 708 species of 222 genera (It), 696 (Pi), 338 (S), and 237 (Tre), respectively (GOTLIN CULJAK & IGRC BARCIC 2002, GOTLIN CULJAK et ai 2005, BARBAGALLO et al. 1995, SZELEGIEWICZ 1978b, PETROVIC 1998, HELLRIGL 2004). If compared to the better studied region of Europe with over 700 species, the known species from Hungary are perhaps 85% of the number of existing species. SYNOPSIS OF THE APHIDOIDEA AND PHYLLOXEROIDEA OF HUNGARY Superfamily: Aphidoidea LATREILLE, 1802 Family: Aphididae LATREILLE, 1802 Subfamily: Anoeciinae TULLGREN, 1909 Genus: Anoecia KOCH, 1857 Anoecia (Anoecia) corni (FABRICIUS, 1775) Anoecia (Anoecia) major BÖRNER, 1950 Anoecia (Anoecia) nemoralis BÖRNER, 1950 Anoecia (Anoecia) vagans (KOCH, 1856)
