Diagnosis - The species has a fused male foretarsus, ten forewing veins and a "greyhound shape" male genitalia that lack juxta (ELIOT 1973, ROBBINS 1988), and the male possesses an androconial fold situated along the cubital vein in the hindwing ventral surface subbasal area (BÁLINT 2002: 129). These place the species in the genus Denivia. The species is similar to the parapatric D. phegeus (HEWITSON, 1865) (whose male type also posseses this fold), but male without forewing dorsal scent patch (present in D. phegeus), dorsal wing surface ground colour deep iridescent blue (light blue in D. phegeus), ventral wing surface ground colour brown without any green hue (brownish grey brown with green hue in D. phegeus) and the median pattern in the ventral wing surfaces are white (these are green in D. phegeus). The new species super­ficially also resembles to sympatric Theritas Usus (STOLL, 1790) D'ABRERA, 1995, but Usus male has no black apical area in the dorsal wing surface and
