A list of the 30 collecting sites with the applied methods is given. Twenty-one taxa are recorded as new for Mongolia. With 8 figures. INTRODUCTION Hungarian entomologists play an important role in the modern research and a much better exploration of the Mongolian entomofauna. Their activity was started by the expeditions of Dr. ZOLTÁN KASZAB, former general director of the Hungarian Natural History Museum (HNHM) (MATSKÁSI 1987). Dr. KASZAB led six expeditions to Mongolia between 1963-1968, under the aegis of the Mongolian and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MERKL 1989). Due to the hard work, his excellent collecting talent and to the applied new methods, these expeditions resulted in more than one thousand collecting events (No. 1153) (KASZAB 1968); the taxonomic and faunistic results of the treatment of this material have been published in a long series of scientific papers (the most recent one in the series (no. 515): PASSERIN D'ENTRÈVES & ROGGERO 2006). In spite of the fact that the activity of KASZAB was concentrated on his favourite coleopterans, he also collected several thousand specimens of Lepidoptera, the Macroheterocera, part of which was iden-
