KÖDÖBÖCZ in 2003. - Although this species was listed by HORVATOVICH (1993) and ÁDÁM (1996), published records were not found in the Hungarian literature. CSIKI (1946) mentioned it under the synonymous name D. longulus J. FRIVALDSZKY, 1884 from a few localities in Transylvania (Romania), but not from present-day Hungary. According to LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) it occurs in the following countries: Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Moldavia, Poland, Russia (Central and North European Territory), Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine in Europe; Japan, Russia (East and West Siberia, Far East) in Asia. Dyschirius (Dyschiriodes) benedikti BULIRSCH, 1995 - Heves m., Kisköre, puszta [= grassland], 3. VIII. 2005, leg. V. KRIVAN (1, CPB). Identified by P. BULIRSCH (Prague, Czech Republic) in 2005. - FEDORENKO (1996) treated D. agnatus MOTSCHULSKY, 1844 "in broader sense" and synonymized many taxa with this species including D. benedikti, although quoted some small, but significant differences between these two particular taxa. LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) and LORENZ (2005) followed this work, whereas M. BALKENOHL in MÜLLER-MOTZFELD (2004) listed it as valid, and included there a very detailed differential diagnosis (based on study of the type series). D. benedikti is endemic along the Danube river and occurs only in very restricted microhabitats (mostly sand pits and solonchak) inside the areas of D. agnatus (P. BULIRSCH, pers. comm.). Nobody mentioned this taxon from Hungary, therefore this is the first record from the country. According to MÜLLER-MOTZFELD (2004) it occurs in the following countries: Austria (Burgenland), Romania, Slovakia and Czech Republic. Dyschirius (Dyschiriodes) luticola CHAUDOIR, 1850 - [Csongrád m.,] Sándorfalva, sós terület [= saline area], 22. V. 1986, leg. J. RlHA, L. KASPAR & P. BULIRSCH (2, CPB). Identified by P. BULIRSCH (Prague, Czech Republic) in 2005. - Although this species is mentioned by FEDORENKO (1996) and represented by a
