O. Merkl szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 67. (Budapest, 2006)
However, the overwhelming majority of the names refer to taxa published in a number of faunistic papers and books with reliable records. The remaining species (i.e. listed in these two papers for the first time in Hungary, but without locality data) are discussed below. Only few of these species were found in subsequent years and are hereby listed as new for the Hungarian fauna. Nevertheless, this last work (ADAM'S checklist) is to be regarded as the "last comprehensive account". Certain older records do not satisfy our criteria for the published faunistic record, therefore such species are here formally listed from Hungary for the first time. After ÁDÁM' s list new species were reported by MAGURA & MOLNÁR (1997), MERKL (1998), SZÉL (1999), KOVÁCS et al. (2000), HEGYESS Y & SZÉL (2002), KUTASl & SÁGHY (2002), NAGY & MERKL (2002), SZÉL & BÉRCES (2002), TURIN et al. (2003), NAGY et al. (2004) and NAGY & SZÉL (2005). The species are arranged in alphabetical order. In terms of the nomenclature used, primary references were MÜLLER-MOTZFELD (2004) and LÖBL & SMETANA (2003). The localities - also listed alphabetically - are grouped according to the counties of Hungary (megye = county, is abbreviated by "m."), including the metropolitan area of Budapest. Translation of Hungarian words on the specimen labels and comments are given in brackets. The number of specimens studied and the abbreviation of the depositories are in parentheses. Abbreviations of museum collections - CIR = Collection of IMRE RETEZÁR (Budapest, Hungary), CPB = collection of PETR BULIRSCH (Prague, Czech Republic), CPM = collection of PAVEL MORAVEC (Litomerice, Czech Republic), CVK = collection of VIKTOR KÖDÖBÖCZ (Debrecen, Hungary), HNHM = Hungarian Natural History Museum (Budapest, Hungary) (curator: OTTÓ MERKL), KFM = Kazinczy Ferenc Museum (Sátoraljaújhely, Hungary) (curator: GÁBOR HEGYESSY), NHMB = Natural History Museum of Bakony Mountains (Zirc, Hungary) (curator: CSABA KUTASl). SPECIES NEW TO HUNGARY Amara (Celia)praetermissa (CR. SAHLBERG, 1827) (Fig. 1) - [Baranya m.,] Mohács, Mohácsi-sziget [= island] [no other data] (2, HNHM). Identified by F. HlEKE (Berlin, Germany) in 1975. - The two old specimens were collected probably in the first decade of 20th century by E. KAUFMANN. According to CSIKI (1946) it lives in the Carpathians. ÁDÁM (1996) listed it in brackets (suggesting that it may occur in Hungary) under the name urnára (Celia) pollens STURM, 1825; while HORVATOVICH (1993) did not mention this name. LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) recorded it from Azerbaijan, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia,
