Ghelaie). The alternate sexual generation is unknown. The position of this species within the phylogeny of Andricus suggests that a sexual generation, ifit exists, will induce galls on section Cerris oaks: Q. brantii LINDL, or Q. libani OLIVIER, which grow together with Q. infectoria in many parts of Iran, particularly in the Zagros Mountains. Comments - Further details of the adult morphology, gall structure, life cycles, distribution, biology and phenology of A. sternlichti and A. infectorius are given in STONE et al. (2006) and BELLIDO et al. (2003). Andricus infectorius usually induces galls on Q. robur L. and is common in Europe, including the Carpathian Basin and Balkans. This species was also listed for Iran (CHODJAI 1980), however, this record probably belongs to A. moreae. The authors collected some galls in the Zagros Mountains that more closely resemble those of A. infectorius than of A. moreae. However, no adults were reared from those galls and thus the distribution of A. infectorius in Iran is still questionable: it could be confirmed only from reared adult wasps, on the basis of which these two species can be reliably separated and identified. Andricus sternlichti also induces galls on Q. infectoria and has been recorded from Israel (BELLIDO et al. 2003), Turkey (G. STONE & R. ATKINSON, pers. observ.) and Iran. The two species, A. sternlichti and A moreae coexists in the same localities. Dryocosmus tavakolii MELIKA, STONE et AZIZKHANI, sp. n. (Figs 79-92) Type material - Holotype: female labelled as follows: "Iran, Lorestan Province, Ghelaie, Q. brantii, 2003. April, leg. M. Tavakoli", red label "Holotype female. Dryocosmus tavakolii Melika, Stone et Azizkhani. Desig. G. Melika 2005". Paratypes: 5 paratype females arc designated with the same labels as the holotype. The holotype female is deposited in the HNHM, Budapest, Hungary, 1 paratype in the museum of Research Institute of Forests and Rangclands, Tehran, Iran and 4 paratype females and a gall in the collection of the Systematic Parasitoid Laboratory, Kőszeg, Hungary. Gall material - One gall from the same locality and with the same labels as the type material. The type material (adult wasps) was reared from this gall. Description - Female. 3.0-3.3 mm. Head yellow, except dark brown triangular intcrocellar area; compound eyes and ocelli greyish, tip of mandible dark brown; antenna dark brown, in some specimens scape and pedicel arc yellow. Wing veins distinct, dark brown. Mesosoma and legs uniformly yellow, except dark brown to black tarsal claws; some dark marks in a form of lines are visible on scutum (marked with dotted lines on Fig. 86). Metasoma yellow, except dark brown dorsal and dorso-lateral parts. Head smooth and shiny, with uniform, relatively sparse pilifcrous punctures (points), slightly more than 2.0 times as broad as long from above, 1.3-1.5 times as broad as high, with elevated lateral ocelli area, and slightly narrower than mesosoma in frontal view (Figs 79-80). Gena smooth, with
