E-mail: kontscha@zoo.zoo.nhmus.hu Abstract-The first Hungarian locality ofNeobisium fuscimanum (C. L. KOCH, 1843) is given, complemented with general distribution and a short description. With one figure. Key words - Pseudoscorpiones, Neobisium fuscimanum, new record, Hungary. The fauna of false scorpions of Hungary is poorly known. The first data were published by TÖMÖSVÁRY (1882). S ZALA Y (1968) reported several new locality data and prepared a key to the Hungarian species. Later MAHNERT (1983, 1990) presented species lists from the Hortobágy National Park (11 species) and the Bátorliget Nature Reserves (10 species). MURÁNYI & KONTSCHÁN (2002) mentioned 9 species from the Fertő-Hanság National Park, including one species from the Szigetköz. S ZALA Y (1968) published the occurrence of Neobisium fuscimanum (C. L. KOCH, 1843) from the neighbouring countries, but emphasized that this species was unknown from Hungary. The species is known from Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania (SZALAY 1968) and Germany (DROGOLA & LlPPOLD 2004). It is absent from Great Britain (LEGG & JONES 1988). In B EIER' s (1963) book the following countries are listed: Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania and Greece (Corfu). BEIER (1963) mentioned the species from Hungary as well, but in reality, the species has not been found in our country so far. The only reliable record is based on a female specimen with the following data: NE Hungary, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemp* Corresponding author.
