Rovarvilág [The World of Insects] (Compact Disc) L. MÓCZÁR Dr. LÁSZLÓ MÓCZÁR, professor emeritus of the University of Szeged (formerly József Attila University) is one of the best insect photographers in Hungary. In this disc a total of 860 pictures representing 600 species are presented, which provide a spectacular selection of the insect fauna of Hungary. The pictures were taken from live insects on the spot, and on a location characteristic for that species. An identification key to 33 insect orders is also included. Interesting and informative parts of the text treat insect anatomy, life cycle and communication. The text is complemented with footages on live insects and sounds emitted by the insects, and even sound tracks of the lectures of experts. One of the most important parts of the work is a collection of short biographies of 1250 members of the Hungarian Entomological Society, including research scientists, amateurs and private collectors, and even foreign experts whose activity was associated with exploration of the Hungarian fauna. Many of these contemporary or late colleagues are depicted on photographs.
