O. Merkl szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 66. (Budapest, 2005)

(HUEMER & KAILA 2003). It is similar to Elachista scirpi STAINTON, 1887. Its proposed Hungarian name: pilisi fűaknázómoly. Looking through the Microlepidoptera materials of the ERTI light traps, I have found a number of specimens of a species of Caloptilia HÜBNER, 1825 (Gracillariidae), which were unknown to me. With the help of the collection of the Palaearctic Microlepidoptera of the HNHM, I could identify them as Caloptilia populetorum ZELLER, 1839. It is new to the fauna of Hungary. Data of the specimens found in the ERTI light traps are the following: Acsád, Cikotai plantázs, 12. VIII. 2003; Gyula, Városerdő, 12. IX. 2002; Kömörő, erdészház (= forester's house), 25. V. 2002. Another specimen was collected in the Őrség. Its data are: Farkasfa, Zsilavec út, 19. VI. 1999, leg. Cs. SZABOKY. Further three specimens were found in the collection of F. BUSCHMANN with the following label data: Nagykáta, Felső-Tápió, nyírfás ártér (= an inundation area with birch), 6. VIII. 2004, leg. F. BUSCHMANN. A widely distributed species feeding on birch, it was already collected in some of the neighbouring countries (Austria, Romania, Slovakia). According to the literature, adults of this bivoltine species overwinter. It is to be inserted before Caloptilia elongella (LINNAEUS, 1761) in the Hungarian check list (SZABOKY et al. 2002: 26). Its proposed Hungarian name: nyirfa-keskenymoly. Errata - The title of my previous paper on new data to the Microlepidoptera fauna of Hungary (SZABOKY 2004) was erroneous, as it was stated to be part VII, instead of part VIII.
