Semidalis boliviensis sensu MEINANDER 1990 group - Species included: S. boliviensis sensu MEINANDER 1990. - Main distinctive feature: paramere pipelike. - Distribution: Brazil. - Remarks: MEINANDER (1990) described and figured a coniopterygid specimen determined as S. boliviensis by him. However, the shape of the paramere is quite different from that of S. boliviensis, and it differs distinctly also from the other known Semidalis species. Consequently it probably represents a hitherto undescribed species. Moreover, the differences between S. boliviensis figured in the monograph of MEIN ANDER (1972) and "5. boliviensis,, sensu MEINANDER 1990 is larger, than in the case of the other members of Semidalis boliviensis group. Semidalis Candida group - Species included: S. Candida NAVAS, 1916, S. pseudouncinata MEINANDER, 1963. - Main distinctive features: distal part of paramere round or oval. - Distribution: South-western Palaearctic. Semidalis daqingshana group - Species included: S. daqigshana LlU et YANG, 1994. - Main distinctive features: paramere with a large dorsal tooth curving forvards. - Distribution: China. Semidalis decipiens group - Species included: S. decipiens (ROEPKE, 1916), S. macleodi MEINANDER, 1972. - Main distinctive features: distinct stylus present; distal part of paramere pick-like. - Distribution: Oriental Region. Semidalis isabelae group - Species included: S. isabelae MONSERRAT, 1981. - Main distinctive feature: hypandrium with two lateral thorns. - Distribution: Neotropical Region. Semidalis kolbei group - Species included: S. kolbei ENDERLEIN, 1906, S. normani MEINANDER, 1982. - Main distinctive features: uncini very large, C-shaped. - Distribution: Neotropical Region. Semidalis marginalis group - Species included: S. anchoroides LlU et YANG, 1993, S. biprojecta YANG et LlU, 1994, S. marginális (BANKS, 1930). - Main distinctive features: rectangular or trapezoid widened part of paramere situated ventrally. - Distribution: Central America, China. Semidalis palmensis group - Species included: S. mascarenica FRASER, 1952, S. palmensis (KLINGSTEDT, 1936). - Main distinctive feature: the extraordinarily large penis. - Distribution: One of the two species occurs in Madagascar and in the nearby islands, while the other in the Canari Islands.
