Remark: Taphaeus conformis Wesmael, 1835 and T.fuscipes Wesmael, 1835 are certainly junior synonyms of Diospilus oleraceus Haliday, 1833 and D. capita (Nees, 1834), respectively (cf. Belokobylskij 1990: 119). Abbreviations applied in the description (after Van Achterberg 1993: 5-6) - Eye: OD = diameter of an ocellus, OOL = ocellar-ocular line or shortest distance between hind ocellus and eye, POL = hind ocellar line or shortest distance between hind two ocelli; Fore wing veins: r - first section of the radial vein, 2-SR = first transverse cubital vein, 3-SR and 4-SR (= SRI) = second and third sections of the radial vein. Subfamily HELCONINAE DIOSPILINI Taphaeus robiginosus sp. n. (Figs 1-6) Material examined - Male holotype: Australia, New South Wales (= NSW), Nanack Fire Road, 29 miles Dornigo-Coramba, 18 April 1970, leg. D. H. Colless. Holotype is deposited in the Australian National Insect Collection, Canberra. Etymology - The species name "robiginosus" refers to the rusty brown colour of the body. Description of the male holotype - Body 3 mm long. Antenna somewhat longer than body and with 27 antennomeres. First flagellomere just less than four times as long as broad apically, further flagellomeres gradually shortening so that penultimate flagellomere twice as long as broad. Head in dorsal view transverse, 1.87 times as broad as long, eye somewhat protruding and one-third longer than temple, temple receded (Fig. 1). Ocelli middle-sized, elliptic and near to each other, POL:OD:OOL as 5:4:16. Eye in lateral view nearly round and one-fifth higher than wide, temple half as wide as eye and ventrally slightly broadening. Malar space as long as basal width of mandible. Face 2.3 times as wide (close below pair of antennái sockets) as high medially, inner margin of eyes diverging ventrally. Distance between pair of tentorial pits somewhat longer than shortest distance between eye and tentorial pit. Head polished. Mesosoma in lateral view 1.5 times as long as high. Notaulix evenly and moderately deep, crenulate. Precoxal suture crenulate. Propodeum areolated, anterior two areolae smooth and shiny, otherwise propodeum rugulose (Fig. 2). Mesoscutum, scutellum and mesopleuron polished. Hind femur five times as long as broad medially, hind tibia ten times as long as broad apically (Fig. 3). Fore wing about as long as body. Pterostigma (Fig. 4) 2.66 times as long as wide, issuing radial vein from its middle, r and 3-SR equal in length, 4-SR straight
