The new species is closely related to Pristiphora groenblomi (Lindqvist, 1952). P. groenblomi (Lindqvist, 1952) is larger, 6-7 mm, its pronotum ochraceous, mesopleuron densely granulated, matt, apex of penis valve hyaline. The new species is smaller, 5 mm, its pronotum black, mesopleuron with dense but isolated punctures, shining, the apex of penis valve infuscate (Fig. 14). Pristiphora nigropuncticeps sp. n.
