FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK Volume 63 2002 pp. 53-64. Coniopterygidae (Neuroptera) from Thailand GY. SZIRÁKI Abstract: The examined coniopterygid material collected in Thailand represents the genera Heteroconis, Coniocompsa, Coniopteryx, Semidalis and Hemisemidalis. All are new to the fauna of Thailand, while the genus Hemisemidalis is new to the Oriental Region. Heteroconis editae sp. n., Heteroconis sakaeratica sp. n., Coniocopsa nabhitabhatai sp. n. and Coniopteryx alticola sp. n. are described as new. Coniocompsa postmaculata Yang, 1964 is reported for the first time out of China. Key words: Coniopterygidae, new data, new species, Thailand INTRODUCTION The coniopterygid fauna of Thailand is almost unknown. Earlier only a single species - Spiloconis sexguttata Enderlein, 1907 - was reported from here (Monserrat 1982). In 2001 a collecting trip was carried out by the author and Edit Horváth, staff members of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, in some northern and middle parts of the country. As a result of this journey, a number of neuropterous specimens were collected, and a part of them was coniopterygid. This coniopterygid material represents species of five genera. Four of the recognized species are new. The collecting data of the determined coniopterygids and the descriptions of the new species are given below. Most of the collecting sites were in the UNESCO biosphere reserve, Sakaerat Forest (Prov. Prachin Buri) near to the widely known Khao Yai National Park. In addition to the usual collecting methods, here we had possibility of sweeping in the canopy level from a monitoring tower up to about forty-five meters. The collectors in every case were Edit Horváth and the author. Thus, apart from the holotypes of the new species, their names are not mentioned in the text. As regards the male genitalia, I follow the terminology of Meinander (1972), but in the genus Heteroconis the sclerite to which the stylus is connected - agreeing with New (1990) - is regarded to be gonocoxite.
