Dolerus rubromaculatus sp. n. Body black with bluish iridescence. Propleuron, pronotum, prosternum, tegulae, lat­eral lobes of mesonotum and wide outer corners of middle lobes red. Cenchri ligth brown. Wings infuscate. Venation, costa and stigma black. Vertex and temples densely, moderately deeply and roughly punctured. Ratios of the antennái segments = 7:3:23:18:16:14 (the apical three segments missing). OOL:POL:OCL = 15:8:13. Clypeus deeply and roundly emarginated. Head dilated behind the eyes and contracted at the temples. Pronotum and propleuron very densely, finely and uniformly punctured. Mesonotum and mesoscutellum moderately densely, moderately deeply and uniformly punctured. Mesoscutellar appendage finely and densely granulated. Postscutellum smooth and shining. Mesopleuron densely, roughly and deeply punctured. Length of a cenchrus : distance between cenchri = 13:21. Head and thorax covered with moderately dense white pubescence, 2/3 times as long as the diameter of the front ocellus. Claws with small inner tooth. Abdomen with fine transverse sculpture including the first tergite (propodeum). Length: 9.0 mm (holotype), 8.5 mm (paratype). Holotype — Female: United Sta., Mocsáry. Paratype — Female: labelled as the holotype. The holotype and paratype are deposit­ed in the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. The new species is similar to Dolerus borealis MacGillivray, 1893 and Dolerus rufilobus Ross, 1931 (Goulet 1986). Dolerus borealis has prothorax and tegulae black and hyaline wings.
