apterous female (32 viviparous and 26 oviparous), seven larvae with external wing pads and 604 larvae. The oviparous females appeared in the middle of October. The subspecies proved to be P.f. brachysiphon, because the rates of siphunculus and second segment of hind tarsus were mainly less than 1.1. Based on the investigation of 32 apterous viviparous females the average rate was 0.98930.099 (SD), the range was between 0.82 and 1.2. Thus, these individuals show the separating character of this subspecies correctly. P. f. brachysiphon is a new subspecies to Hungary. In 1967, L. Halmágyi, indicated the occurrence of P. goernitzi as new species to Hungary (Halmágyi 1974), which may be identical with P. f. goernitzi. The distribution of the two Hungarian subspecies should be revised. The individuals of P. f. brachysiphon were collected from the branches of S. alba, which was not recorded as host plant so far. The following species have occurred together with these aphids: Chaitophorus vitellinae (Schrank, 1801), Ch. salijaponicus niger Mordvilko, 1929, Pterocomma rufipes (Hartig, 1841), P. pilosum konoi Hori, 1939, Tuberolachnus salignus (Gmelin, 1790). Once two individuals of attending ant Dolichoderus quadripunctatus (Linnaeus, 1767) were observed on mixed colony of P. f. brachysiphon and Pterocomma rufipes.
