that E. maculata sensu Wéber is in fact E. confusa (incl. Wéber 1987: 256). Thus E. maculata will be deleted from the Hungarian species list and it is the first reliable report of E. confusa from Hungary. Although Loew (1865: 238) described it from "Oesterreich, Kärnten, Krain, Ober- und Mittelitalien, Ungarn und ... Varna", no voucher specimens are available and we cannot be sure that any of the specimens have been caught within the present borders of Hungary. Empis (Leptempis) divisa Loew, 1869 — 1 male and 1 female: Oszlár, Holt-Tisza, 1961. V. 14, leg. Tóth S.; 4 males and 1 female: ibid, V. 20.; 2 males and 1 female: Tiszatarján, Tisza ártere [flood area], 1961. V 20, leg. Tóth S.; 3 males and 1 female: ibid, V. 17.; 1 male: Tiszapalkonya, Tisza ártere, 1961. V. 25, leg. Tóth S. - Wéber identified these specimens as E. mesogramma (cf. Wéber 1975a: 155, 1976: 25), which proved to be a misidentification, thus E. mesogramma will be deleted from the Hungarian specieslist and E. divisa is reported here for the first time from Hungary. HYBOTIDAE Platypalpus agilis (Meigen, 1822) — 1 female: Zalalövő, 1957. V. 8, leg. Soós Á.; 1 female: Nagykovácsi, Remetevölgy, 1957. V. 5, leg. Mihályi. - Wéber identified these specimens as P. agilella (cf. Wéber 1975a: 40, 1976: 5), which proved to be a misidentification, thus P. pallidicoxa (the senior synonym of P. agilella) will be deleted from the Hungarian checklist. Platypalpus agilis (Meigen, 1822) — 1 female: Mecsek-hegys, Vasas II. fcs. [light trap], 1966. IV. 26, Dr. Wéber; 3 female: Zalalövő, 1957. V. 8, leg. Soós Á.; 1 female: Felsőbagod, 1957. V. 9, leg. Soós A. - These specimens are paratypes of P. bilobatus Wéber (cf. Wéber 1972: 306). Platypalpus agilis (Meigen, 1822) — 1 female: Tata, Öreg-tó, 1959. IV. 29, leg. Zsirkó; 1 female: ibid, leg. Mihályi; 1 female: Bükkábrány, 1959. V. 14, mocsaras terület [swampy area], leg. Tóth S.; 1 female: Hu, Keszthely, 1955. V. 13, leg. Dr. Jermy. - Wéber identified these specimens as P. eumelaenus (cf. Wéber 1975a: 38; Wéber 1976: 8), which proved to be a misidentification, thus P. eumelaenus will be deleted from the Hungarian species list. Platypalpus albidifacies Chvála, 1975 — 25 males and 18 females: Dömsöd, Apajpuszta, szikes legelő [saline pasture], 1958. V. 9, leg. Mihályi; 12 males and 12 females: ibid, leg. Zsirkó; 1 male and 1 female: Dömsöd, Apaj-puszta, szikes legelő, 1958. V. 22, leg. Zsirkó; 1 male: ibid, leg. Mihályi; 1 male and 1 female: Hejőbába, 1964. V. 11, leg. Tóth S.; 1 male: ibid, V. 14.; 1 male: Hu. Töltéstava, 1956. V. 11, leg. Dr. Jermy; 1 female: Szatymaz, 1962. V. 17, leg. Soós Á.; 1 female: Hejőbába, 1963. VI. 6, leg. Tóth S.; 2 females: Tard, Bába-völgy [valley], 1960. V. 11, leg. Tóth S.; 1 female: Fülöpszállás, 1959. V. 8, leg. Endrődy. - Wéber identified these specimens as P. albifacies (cf. Wéber 1975a: 55, 1976: 6), other specimens in these works under P. albifacies are correctly identified); new species to Hungary. Platypalpus articulatoides (Frey, 1918)— 1 female: Ágasegyháza, 1957. V. 21-24, mocsár [swamp], leg. Mihályi, Zsirkó; 1 female: ibid, mocsár, rét [swamp, meadow]. Wéber identified these specimens as P. articutatus (cf. Wéber 1961: 430, other specimens under P. articulatus were correctly identified); new species to Hungary. Platypalpus bilobatus Wéber, 1972 — 1 male: Siklós, Várhegy, 1965. V 20, leg.
