Rufipes-group Chrysops (Chrysops) melichari Mik, 1898 — Majer 19856: 59. - This species is hitherto known from Switzerland, North Italy and from North Croatia. Only one female specimen was collected with CO2 baited Malaise trap in West Hungary; Csánig, 21. July 1982, (Fig. 6). Chrysops (Chrysops) rufipes Meigen, 1820 — Majer (19856, 1987c, 1998); Majer & Krcmar (1998); Tóth (1967, 1999, 2000). - European species. It is common in most parts of Hungary (Fig. 7). Italicus-group Chrysops (Chrysops) flavipes Meigen, 1804 — Majer (1981, 1984, 1985a, 19856, 1987a, 19876,1987c, 1988,1991); Majer & Krcmar (1998); Tóth (1965,1967,1999,2000). - South and Middle European species. Thalhammcr described it from Hungary as Ch. per­cipillaris Loew, 1856. It is known in most parts of Hungary, but not very frequent (Fig. 8). Chrysops (Chrysops) italicus Meigen, 1804 — Majer (1985a: 135); Tóth (2000: 118). - It is a South European species moving towards Central Europe. The systematic collecting resulted few specmens from Transdanubia only (Fig. 9). Silvius alpinus (Scopoli, 1763) — Majer (19856: 59) as S. vituli Fabricius, 1805; Tóth (1999: 116). - European species. Thalhammer registered it as a common species but proved to be rather rare in our collecting in the last 40 years (Fig. 10).
