4 (13) Rostrum medially with one or two deep incisions. 5 (6) Interlamellar setae setiform, long with pointed tip. Rostrum with two deep incisions, therefore, trimucronate. Notogastral setae very long. L.: 840-850 jim. (Figs 2-3). - Ethiopia Rhynchoribates radula Mahunka, 1983 6 (5) Interlamellar setae more or less thickened mostly with blunt tip. Rostrum with one incision, therefore bimucronate. 7 (8) Interlamellar setae curved inwards, almost semicircularrly. L.: 682 urn. (Fig. 4). -Madagascar Rhynchoribates subaequalis Balogh, 1962 8 (7) Interlamellar setae straight, directed anteriad. 9 (10) Lamellar setae sitting on two separated, short longitudinal laths. L.: 758-812 urn. (Figs 5-6). - Tanzania Rhynchoribates borhidii Mahunka, 1986 10 (9) Lamellar setae sitting on a transversal lath. 11 (12) Exobothridial setae blade-shaped. L.: 611-667 pm. (Figs 7-8). - Madagascar Rhynchoribates genavensium Mahunka, 1997 12 (11) Exobothridial setae setiform, fine. L.: 790 urn. (Fig. 9). - Tanzania Rhynchoribates montanus Balogh, 1968 13 (4) Rostrum rounded; without deep medial incision. 14 (15) Lamellar knob absent; lamellar setae originate on surface of prodorsum. L.: 787-867 urn. (Figs 10-11). - Tanzania Rhynchoribates pocsi Mahunka, 1986 15 (14) Lamellar knob represented by an irregular transversal lath or by a sclerotized ring. 16 (19) Between lamellar setae there is a pointed median spur. 17 (18) Rostrum narrow with almost parallel sides. Rostral setae arched inward. L.: 790 urn. (Fig. 12). - Angola Rhynchoribates acutus Balogh, 1958 18 (17) Rostrum with diverging sides posteriad. Rostral setae straight, diverging. L.: 713-752 um. (Figs 13-14). - Angola Rhynchoribates excelsior Mahunka, 1985 19(16) No pointed spur between lamellar setae. 20 (21) Lamellar knob represented by a sclerotized ring connected with interlamellar setae. L.: 857 urn. (Fig. 15). - Madagascar Rynchoribates robinsoni Balogh, 1962 21 (22) Sclerotized ring absent; lamellar setae originate on a transversal lath. Two similar species. 22 (23) Interlamellar setae longer than sensillus. Rostrum with 3-4 larger marginal teeth before rostral setae. L.: 934-1025 p.m. (Figs 16-17). - Angola Rhynchoribates obtusus Mahunka, 1985 23 (22) Interlamellar setae shorter than sensillus. Rostrum behind rostral setae with 5-7 smaller marginal teeth. L.: 705 pm. (Fig. 18). - W. Africa Rhynchoribates serratus Balogh, 1958 24 (1) Genital plates with 7 pairs of setae (Neotropical species). 25 (38) Rostral part of prodorsum gradually narrowing with converging sides, without marginal teeth 26 (31) Interlamellar setae setiform with long, pointed tip. 27 (28) Lamellar setae long: much longer than rostral setae. Rostral setae curved slightly mediad. L.: 1112 pm. (Fig. 19.) - Bolivia Rhynchoribates insignis Balogh et Mahunka, 1969
