ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LIX 1998 pp. 221-225 Data on the Opiliones (Arachnida) fauna of the Rakaca valley (Cserehát, Hungary) Zs. Bokor Data on the Opiliones (Arachnida) fauna of the Rakaca valley (Cserhát, Hungary) - Floristical research has been carried out in the Rakaca valley since 1991. Within this frame-work Opiliones were studied in 1992 and 1994. For sampling with pitfall traps the following plant communities were chosen: sessile oak-turkey oak forest (Quercetum petraeae - cerris), wet meadow (Cirsio cani — Festucetum pratensis) and tall sedge vegetation (Caricetum elatae). 11 Opiliones species were collected. These are the first data on Opiliones from this region. Key words: soil fauna, Opiliones, Quercetum petraeae-cerris, Cirsio cani-Festucetum pratensis, Caricetum elatae INTRODUCTION Cserehát is an unexplored area of Hungary considering the Opiliones. Works on Opiliones of Hungary (G. Kolosváry, L. Szalay, I. Loksa) do not mention any data about Cserehát. It is a quite desolate and sparsely populated area Kolosváry (1965) gives the most data on the Opiliones of Hungary (from the surroundings of the towns Sopron, Kőszeg, Szeged and from Balaton Highlands, Bakony, Mecsek-, Mátra, Villány, Bükk and Aggtelek Mountains and from the valley of Tisza) but does not mention any data from Cserehát. Loksa (Szinetár 1990) also worked on these areas, on the valley of Danube, in the Pilis Mts., in the Bátorliget Nature Reserve, as well as in the Kiskunság and Hortobágy National Parks . MATERIAL AND METHODS Cserehát (North Hungarian Middle Range) is lying at 300-320 m above the sea level, between the rivers Bódva and Hernád (Cadaster of the Hungarian regions 1990). On the northern part of the region the Rakaca river springs and runs from east to the west. Its
