Bracon irreptor Klug, 1817: in Germar: Reise nach Dalmatien 2: 259 9, type locality: "Spalato" (=Split in Croatia), lectotype Ç (+ 1 9 paralectotype, present designation) in Zoological Museum, Berlin; examined. Vipio avunculus Kohl, 1906: Hym. Siidarab. p. 123-124 Ç , type locality: "Südarabien (2 9, Ras Farták)" ("Arabia 1899 Dr. O. Simony" on locality label), lectotype 9 (+ 1 9 paralectotype) in Naturhistorisches Museum, Wien; examined, syn. n. In the Zoological Museum (Berlin) there are eight specimens under the label "Bracon irreptor Kl.", according to the localities they are divided as follows (in parenthesis the specimens are indicated, respectively): "Dalmatien Spalato" (type locality, 2 9), "Montpellier" (2 9 + 1 d), "Acarnan Krüger, S." (19) and "Sizilien Grohm. S." (2 9). From among the eight specimens two females received the status lectotype and paralectotype, respectively, originating from the type locality Dalmatia, Spalato = Split; 1 9 + 1 6 (Montpellier) and 1 d (Acarnan) represent also G. irreptor, however, have not type status because they do not origin from the type locality, and, furthermore, 3 9 (1 9 Montpellier, 2 9 Sicily) represent the species Vipio humerator (A. Costa, 1888). The eight specimens were labelled accordingly. I included this species here by two considerations: 1.) the type locality (Spalato = Split) is in Croatia and 2.) to publish the synonymization. Distribution: Croatia, Italy, France, Saudi Arabia, Israel. Acknowledgement - The type specimens were kindly loaned for study by Dr. M. Fischer (Naturhistorisches Museum, Wien) (Vipio avunculus) and by Dr. F. Koch (Zoologisches Museum, Berlin) (Bracon irreptor) to whom I express my sincere gratitude.
