4 (1) Abdomen dark brown to black only posteriorly; basal segments reddish orange, yellowish brown or chestnut coloured (except in some specimen in Cleptes blaisdelli and C. dooi (cT). Head and thorax multicoloured. 5 (6) Body, especially pronotum, mesonotum and scutellum with unusual coarse sculpture (Fig. 6), punctures deep and fixed partly striatiform. Pronotum (9) bright gold with green reflection. Apical segments with flame red highlights and with golden green reflection "rugulosus" group 6 (5) Body differently, not unusually coarsely sculptured; when deep punctures present, they fixed rarely striatiform. Head and thorax with greenish gold, green, flame red, coppery or cyclamen highlights, exceptionally with bronze reflection. Apical segments black or (and) with metallic colour similar to thorax "nitidulus" group Cleptes alienus group 1 (2) Head, thorax largely bronze to coppery with gold and green highlights, collar green in some specimens (9) or bright green, partly bluish green, in some specimens (cT). Abdomen chestnut brown (9), lateral margins may be with a green or bluish tint (?) or distinct reflection (cT). Scape, antenna and legs brown, F-I and tibia often yellowish (9) or scape, pedicel, coxa, femora and tibiae metallic green (cT). Propodeal disc and mesopleuron green with a golden tint or bluish green. Clypeal truncation 1.1 (cT) or 1.4 (9) times wider than antennái socket diameter. Pronotal punctures about one (cT) or two (9) PD apart. 9: 5-5.7, S: 4.8-5.1 mm speciosus Aaron, 1885 2 (1) Head, thorax and legs partly blue to purple. Abdomen always with metallic highlights at least along lateral margins and (or) on apical segments. Lateral margins of propodeum straight and parallel (9 cT). 3 (4) Clypeal truncation less wide (1.6 times) than antennái socket diameter (Fig. 10), without lower transparent margin (9). MS 2.0 MOD long. Ped 2.0 to 3.0 times (9) or slightly (c?) longer than wide. F-I 2 to 2.5 times as long as wide (9). Pronotal punctures about two PD apart (Fig. 2). Head, thorax, femora and tibiae partly greenish blue to purple (9 cT) or at least head and scutum purple. Abdomen dark brown with bluish highlights laterally and on apical terga (9 a). Postscutellum without a medial pit in front (9) or at most hardly developed (Fig. 1, 6), similarly to posterior pits (9 c?). Lateral margin of postscutellum moderately converging basally (Fig. 1). 9 : 6.7, cT : 5.1-7.8 mm alienus Patton, 1879 4 (3) Clypeal truncation much (twice) wider than antennái socket diameter (Fig. 8), lowest part with a more or less distinct transparent margin (9).
