ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LVIII 1997 pp. 89-100 Revision of Cleptes (Leiocleptes) species of the world (Hymenoptera: Chrysididae, Cleptinae) L. Móczár Revision of Cleptes (Leiocleptes) species of the world (Hymenoptera: Chrysididae, Cleptinae) - The species of the reinstated Leiocleptes subgenus is discussed with "alienus", "nitidulus" and the new "morawitzi" and "rugulosus" species groups. The checklist and the key for the Leiocleptes species groups and species of the world are compiled. Cleptes splendidus (Fabricius, 1794) revalidated from synonymy and transferred to Leiocleptes subgenus. New synonym of Cleptes consitnilis Buysson, 1887 is established. Further female and male are demonstrated of the lately revalidated and insufficiently known Cleptes femoralis Mocsáry, 1890. Some status from earlier species group is changed. New taxonomic and distribution data and information are presented concerning variability. The revision of all the known Cleptes species began with the "nitidulus" group (Móczár 1997a). It was followed with the Holcocleptes subgenus (Móczár 1997Z>). The present contribution contains a supplement of the reinstated Leiocleptes on the basis of mainly morphological characters. It is expanded to the earlier synonymized species (Kimsey and Bohart 1991) of Melanocleptes and Zimmermannia subgenera. The misinterpreted Cleptes splendidus (Fabricius, 1794) is revalidated from synonymy as a valid species and transferred to the Leiocleptes subgenus from the "semiauratus" group (Kimsey and Bohart 1991). New synonymy is established, Cleptes consimilis Buysson, 1887 is identical with C. splendidus (Fabricius, 1794). The checklist and the key of the Leiocleptes species-groups and species are completed. The species-group of "alienus" is discussed here in detail, the "nitidulus", the new "morawitzi" and "rugulosus" groups partly, only with the new results. Further female and male specimens are demonstrated for the lately revalidated (Móczár 1997a) and insufficiently known Cleptes femoralis Mocsáry, 1890. New taxonomical and distribution data and other information are presented concerning the variability of Cleptes blaisdelli Bridwell, 1919, C. femoralis Mocsáry, 1890 and of C. rugulosus Linsenmaier, 1968. Some data of the earlier literature are corrected. Finally some corrections are made regarding the previous revision (Móczár 1997a). Acronyms of museums, universities and institutions. The names of towns concerning the origin of the examined material are enumerated only briefly. They were exactly indicated lately, while discussing the "nitidulus" group (Móczár 1997a).
