Mahunka-Papp. DESCRIPTION OF THE NEW SPECIES Sellnickochthonius danubialis sp. n. Measurements: Length of body: 152-162 pm, width of body: 76-81 pm. Prodorsum: Rostral teeth well developed. Surface with typical pattern, anteromedian patch opened anteriorly (Fig. 4). Median part of prodorsum well framed by a strongly sclerotised crest. All borders of patches sinuous, their inner surface well punctuate. Four pairs of prodorsal setae different in length, all - excepting the interlamellar ones slightly dilated basally, with sharply pointed apices. Rostral setae longest of all, nearly twice as long as the lamellar ones. Sensillus (Fig. 2) conspicuously long, its head symmetrical, well elongate, narrow, longer than the peduncle. Its surface bearing irregularly arranged, long spines. Notogaster: Surface ornamented by well-developed, typical pattern. All median patches of shield NA divided medially, their borders sinuous and their surface punctuate, like the other patches on the notogastral shields (Fig. 1). Borders of the ring-spots strong but irregular, some other borders - first of all - the anterolateral ones gradually disappearing. The median patches of shields NM and PY - excepting the anterior ones on both shields - also divided medially, in the third series on shield PY four patches present. All notogastral setae dilated basally, but clearly different in length and thickness. Setae c, and c 2 shortest and narrowed, and setae ei longest and broadest of all. All - excepting setae c } - smooth, these are sparsely spinose. Lateral region: Form of the 3 pairs of suprapleural plates typical for the genus, all well observable (Fig. 5). Pygidium with a long suprapleural incision. Ventral regions: Form and position of coxisternal setae as shown in Fig. 3. Among the adanal setae ad 2 and adj are hypertrophied, blade-like. Material examined: Holotype: (1593-HO-97): Halászi, Derék-erdő, litter, 24. 03. 1994, leg. S. Mahunka and L. Mahunka-Papp, 10 specimens from the same sample. Holotype and 8 paratype deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, 2 specimens in the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle, Geneva. Remarks: On the basis of the notogastral pattern (all median patches divided on the shield NA) the new species belongs to the "suecicus" species-group. It is distinguished from the species belonging to this group [Sellnickochthonius suecicus (Forsslund, 1942), S. jacoti (Evans, 1952)] by the well dilated notogastral setae, the form of ring-spots on
