ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LVIII 1997 pp. 59-61 New Dolerus species from Samarkand (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae) A. Haris New Dolerus species from Samarkand (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae) - Dolerus samarkandicus sp. n. is described hereunder and compared with D. rufogeniculatus Zhelochovtsev, 1924 and D. humeralis Benson, 1967. A new synonym is established: Dolerus humeralis Benson, 1967 is a junior subjective synonym of D. rufogeniculatus Zhelochovtsev, 1924. The new species belongs to a very special group of the genus Dolems Panzer, 1801, subgenus Poodolems Zhelochovtsev, 1988. It is related to the following two species: Dolerus rufogeniculatus Zhelochovtsev, 1924 and D. humeralis Benson, 1967. There are no other Dolerus species which have red marked pronotum and mesonotum and yellow marked legs simultaneously. Both species were found in the same region: Turkestan and Northern Afghanistan. Dolerus samarkandicus sp. n. (Figs 1, 3) Female: Body black, pronotum and propleuron red. Lateral angles of front lobes of mesonotum red. Apical 1/7 of fore, apical 1/6 of middle and apical 2/3 of third femur, basal 1/6 of fore, basal 1/5 of middle and basal 1/4 of third tibia are yellow. Wings slightly infuscated, venation dark brown. Vertex and temple densely and moderately roughly punctured with interspaces about 1/2 x as large as a puncture. OOL : POL : OCL= 1.4 : 1.0 : 1.1. Clypeal emargination 0.3 as deep as median length. Antenna short, length of costa/length of antenna = 1.45. Pronotum and propleuron densely punctured without interspaces. Lobes of mesonotum and mesoscutellum shining, densely and moderately roughly punctured with interspaces about 1/2-1 x as large as a puncture. Mesoscutellar appendage smooth and dully shining. Metascutellum nearly smooth, very sporadically punctured, shining. Mesopleuron roughly and densely punctured. Mesosternum shining, densely punctured in the middle and sporadically on the sides. Distance between cenchri about 1.2 x as long as width of a cenchrus. Pubescence white, and about as long as diameter of front ocellus. First dorsal segment of abdomen smooth and shining in the middle, other abdominal segments with fine transverse sculpture. Sawsheath short, length/height of sawsheath = 0.8 (Fig. 1). Setae strongly curving inward (Fig. 3). Length: 8.0 mm. Holotype: female, "Samarkand Reitter." Deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest.
