The soil samples were extracted in the laboratory of the University. The drying of the plant specimens were facilitated by the Botanical Department of UNAM. Great help was extended in identifying plant specimens by the staff of the Botanical Department of UNAM (head: Nelly Diego-Perez) and of the National Herbarium of Mexico (director: M. Sousa).
