Within the subgenus Glabrobracon (Fahringer, 1927) Tobias, 1957 Bracon zonites Marshall is nearest to B. variator ab. maculiger (Wesmael, 1838), the two species are distinguished by the following few features keyed: 1 (2) Head in dorsal view less transverse, 1.7-1.8 times as broad as long, temple relatively more rounded (Fig. 61). ri about as long as r2 and approaching tip of wing (Figs 64, 66). First tergite 1.3-1.4 times as long as broad behind, scutum less wide, pair of spiracles clearly before middle of tergite (Fig. 65). Ground colour of body reddish yellow with relatively less black pattern. Wings faintly brownish fumous. 2: 3^1.2 mm B. Belokobylskij (Sankt Petersburg), Dr. R. Danielsson (Lund), Dr. P. Dessart (Bruxelles), Dr. M. Fischer (Wien), Dr. E. Haeselbarth (München), Dr. T. Huddleston (London), Dr. W. Korn (Coburg), Dr. V. I. Tobias (Sankt Petersburg) and Dr. C. Villemant (Paris). They essentially supported my taxonomic work by loaning, even for a long-termed terminus, types of Bracon species under their curatorship in the respective museums. Their indulgent tolerance significantly promoted my revisionary study. Figs 67—71. — Figs 67-69.
