Pair of fore wings and right hind wing missing. Left hind wing medio-posteriorly torn and creased. Nervellus directed inwards (Fig. 12). Metasoma about as long as mesosoma. First tergite (Fig. 13) somewhat longer than broad behind, pair of spiracles clearly before middle, beyond spiracles tergite weakly broadening, scutum five-sided, its lateral margin crenulate and its hind third uneven to rugulose, otherwise smooth and shiny. Second tergite somewhat longer than third tergite, suture between them straight and smooth. Second tergite medially rugulose-subrugulose, laterally weakly uneven, shiny. Further tergites polished. Hypopygium in lateral view pointed (Fig. 14). Ovipositor sheath about as long as metasoma (according to the original description "terebra abbreviata vix abdominis longitudine") or as long as hind tibia + tarsomeres 1-2 combined. Posterior end of ovipositor spiky as in Fig. 15. Head and mesosoma black, metasoma reddish yellow. Mandible brownish yellow, apically black; palpi yellow. First tergite blackish brown. Rest of legs reddish yellow. Left hind wing faintly brownish. Description of one female - Similar to the female lectotype. Body 4 mm long. Head in dorsal view less transverse, 1.5 times as broad as long. Antenna as long as body and with 32 antennomeres. Flagellum feebly attenuating, first flagellomere 1.6 times, second flagellomere 1.5 times and penultimate flagellomere also 1.5 times as long as broad. Notaulix faintly distinct. Hind femur 3.57 times as long as broad somewhat distally. Fore wing as long as body. Pterostigma (Fig. 16) 2.8 times as long as wide, issuing radial vein from its middle, rl two-thirds as long as width of pterostigma, r2 1.3 times as long as cuqul, r3 1.8 times as long as r2 and reaching tip of wing, cuqu2 somewhat longer than rl. Dl elongate, i.e., d 1.2 times as long as n. bas. 2 (Fig. 22, see arrows). Second tergite antero-medially subrugulose, otherwise smooth and shiny. Second suture faintly distinct. Ovipositor sheath 1.5 times as long as metasoma or as long as hind tibia + tarsus combined. Wings subhyaline, pterostigma and veins opaque yellow. Male and host unknown. Distribution: Italy (Genova), Germany (?Aachen); Fahringer (1928: 452) reported it from Austria and France, Telenga (1936: 212) from the European part of Russia (Stavropol) and Azerbaïdjan (Lenkoran), Graeffe (1908: 91) from Croatia (Istria). Remarks: 1) Except Italy the distribution of B. delusor in the countries indicated here should be confirmed. - 2) Tobias (1986: 114-149), in his comprehensive book of the braconids of the European part of the former USSR, did not include this species in the key to the genus Bracon. Within the subgenus Glabrobracon (Fahringer, 1927) Tobias, 1957 the nearest allies to B. delusor are B. dissolutus Papp, 1984 (Mongolia), B. hyalinipennis Szépligeti, 1901 (Hungary), B. instabilis Marshall; 1885 (Europe) and B. minutator (Fabricius, 1798) (Europe) considering their receded temple in dorsal view. The four species are differentiated by the following features: 1 (2) Scutum of first tergite laterally with a pair of keels, tergite itself quadrate in form, i.e., hardly longer than broad behind (Fig. 17. Temple in dorsal view moderately receded (Fig. 18). Ovipositor sheath short, as long as hind tarsomeres 1-4. Second tergite either entirely polished or anteriorly more or less rugulose (Fig. 17). Metasoma usually reddish yellow, first tergite black, second tergite frequently with a median black macula, less frequently tergites with a
