Diagnosis: The new species is similar to Rusina ferruginea (Esper, 1785), but the ground colour is more greyish, the orbicular and reniform stigmata are lighter, encircled usually with ochreous or, rarely, whitish spots. The postmedian line is much more sinuous, often serrated, with darker spots at the tips of the veins. The clasping apparatus of the male genitalia of R. ferrosqualida (Fig. 1) is smaller, the valvae are narrower than those of R. ferruginea, the harpe is finer, longer, more acute, most often longer than the width of valva.
