teristic ovate thickening anteriorly, ap. 2 well arched, sejugal ones the widest of all. Epimeral setal formula: 3-1-3-3, all setae in this region minute. All epimeral setae slightly spiniform. Anogenital setal formula: 4-1-2-2. Lyrifissures iad in adanal position. Legs: All legs monodactylous. Solenidium (p t conspicuously long, tp 2 arising immediately adaxial to it, both comparatively far removed from the distal end the tibia I (Fig. 3). Material examined: Holotype (HO-1 538-1996): Malagasy Republic. Central E Madagascar. Degraded montane rain forest on Mt. Ambatokirijy at the S edge of Andasibe (Perinet) Forest Reserve, at 950-1000 m alt. 18°57'15"S, 48°26'20"E, 3. Oct. 1994. Leg. Dr. T. Pócs. Holotype deposited in the Hungarian Natural Histoiy Museum , Budapest, with identification number of the specimens in the Collection of Arachnida, paratype, deposited in the Muséum d'Histoire naturelle, Genève . Remarks: The new species belongs to the species group characterised by 4 pairs of genital setae. It is well distinguished from all known species by the form of the lamellar cusp. Etymology: The name refers to the form of the lamellar cusp. Hymenozetes reticulatus sp. n. Measurements — Length of body: 389 pm, width of body: 362 pm. Prodorsum: Nearly the whole surface covered by the very wide lamellae, only the rostrum visible in the dorsal aspect (Fig. 6) The lamellae are overlapping medially, with a reticulate median part and connected basally by a strong and arched band. Lateral lamellar cusp larger than the median one, between them the long lamellar setae arise. Rostrum broad, with rounded median part in dorsal aspect, elongated, beak-shaped in lateral aspect (Fig. 9). Rostral setae also long with 5-6 long spines unilaterally, inserted on tubercles. Interlamellar setae very long, with a curved distal end, arising from the transverse band medially. Sensillus directed posteriorly, its distal end slightly dilated, lanceolate, spiculate. Notogaster: Pteromorphae small but well protruding, triangulate, sharply pointed. Nine pairs of notogastral setae, all simple, setiform. Setae C2 longest of all, setae h and p shorter than the other, but no very great difference among them. Lateral part of prodorsum: Tutorium very large, dilated distally, its surface irregularly lineolate (Fig 9). Pedotecta 1 also very large, its anterior surface striate. A similar sculpture visible on pedotecta 2-3. Circumpedal carina absent, a well developed minitectum runs from the acetabulum of leg IV to the pteromorphae. Gnathosoma: Mentum slightly modified, large, with two small tubercles and an incisure medially. Setae a and m arising on it anterior margin, setae h medially. Palps (Fig. 7) consist of 4 segments, palpal setal formula: 2-1-2-9+1. All 4 eupathidia equal in size and length, arising on the dorsal part, seta v" longer and thicker than the others and pectinate, with long branches. Ventral regions: Epimeral region mostly smooth, only some weak and irregular sigillae observable. All epimeral setae simple, epimeral setal formula 3-1-3-3, setae lb, 3a, 3b and 4b longer than the others. The position of the setae in the anogenital region shown in Fig. 8. The most posterior genital seta located conspicuously far from the posterior margin of the plate. In the following: HNHM. In the following: MHNG.
