The description of two new anoetid mites (Acari: Anoetidae) deriving from different habitats S. A. Eraky and N. I. Shoker The description of two new anoetid mites (Acari: Anoetidae) deriving from different habitats - Two new hypopi mites are described: Anoetostoma nerminka sp. n., from rodent burrow in corn field (Assiut, Egypt) and Histiostoma pickaxei sp. n., from the skin of dead animal (El-Minia, Egypt), and from wheat (Matay, Beni Suef, Egypt). The holotype of each of these two new species is deposited in the Plant Protection Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University, Egypt, with 2 paratypes of only Histiostoma pickaxei sp. n., one of them was sent to Prof. Dr. S. Mahunka, Department of Zoology of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, Hungary. Anoetostoma nerminka sp. n. (Figs 1-2) This species comes close to Anoetostoma domrowi Fain, 1967, in having coxae 1 and 3 without setae or disks (small circles only present), long legs, all tarsi ending in a claw, the cuticle of the dorsum coarsely granular. However, it differs from that species in many characters: body comparatively wider, dorsosejugal region well developed, absent in A. domrowi, except for sejugal furrow. Dorsal cuticle with one pair of rhomboidal field standing anterolaterally of the notogaster, the dorsal surface covered with scattered, not elongated granulae. Suctorial plate with only eight disks, legs III and IV with robust claws each, legs II with setiform terminal setae. Apodemes well developed. Surfaces of apodemes ornamented by punctulae and/or foveolae. Measurements. - Length: 175 fim, breadth: 103 um. Dorsal side (Fig. 1 : A). - Prodorsum approximately triangular, rostrum projecting anteriorly. Prodorsal and notogastral surfaces ornamented with extremely large foveolae, larger on prodorsal surface, dorsal hair short, shorter on hysterosomatic surface. Inner pair of prodorsal setae standing far anteriorly from the outer pair. Dorsosejugal region present, without any sculpture. Notogaster surface with one pair of rhomboidal field on the anterolateral region. Ventral side (Fig. 1: B). - Infracapitulum of gnathosoma long, longer than wide, apodemes well developed, ^apodeme 1 and sternal apodeme short, ending free far from sejugal apodemes. Posterior sternal apodeme long, fused with sejugal ones, anterior parts of apodemes 1 and 2 thick, ornamented with foveolae. The anterior part of intermediate sternal apodeme, the base of apodeme 1, apodemes 3 and sejugal apodemes, are or-
