vex, broader than long as 3:2; head parallel behind eyes; POL:UOL:OCL:UCL = 1:1:1:1; mesoscutellum subconvex; appendage neither carinated nor grooved; tarsal claw (Fig. 19) with a subapical tooth slightly shorter than apical one, basal lobe just indicated; hind basitarsus equal to following 3 joints combined; IATS:MB:OATS = 3:7:2. Lancet (Fig. 22) with 14 serrulae. Ovipositor sheath as in Fig. 9 (lateral view) and Fig. 14 (dorsal view). Sculpture and pubescence: Head with dense, minute, shallow punctures; surface subshining; thorax with dense, minute punctures except mesoscutellum and appendage; surface subshining with general oily lustre; abdomen impunctate, subshining. Body covered with golden pubescence except for blackish part where it appears to be silvery. Male - Not found. Holotype - Female, Uttar Pradesh, Flower Valley, 3300 m, 26, 6, 1989. Paratype - Himachal Pradesh; Kalatop, 2400 m (4 females), 27. 7. 1982. Sikkim, Mangan, 2000 m (1 female), 16. 5. 1993. Distribution - India, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim. Diagnostic combinations - N. brunniventris sp. n. is unique in having a combination of some significant taxonomic characters such as the characteristic pattern of body colour, ratio of antennái segments 3 and 4 as 6:7; carinated hind orbits; indistinct postocellar line; shallow lateral furrows; POL:UOL:OCL:UCL ratio as 1:1:1:1; etc. On the basis of these characters the new species stands far apart from rest of the Indian Nematus species. Etymology - The species name pertains to the brunneous colour of the abdomen. Nematus kaleri sp. n. (Figs 8, 13,23) Female - Colour: Body fulvous, piceous are: antenna; mandible apex; a spot between lateral ocelli continuous with medial longitudinal streak on postocellar area; mesonotal middle lobe except lateral margins and sagittate apex; broad medial spots on mesonotal lateral lobes; a medial spot on posterior slope of metascutellum; saw sheath more or less. Legs fulvous. Wings hyaline; costa and stigma fulvous; rest of venation light to dark brown. Structure: Length 6.5 mm. Antenna long, 3.3 times head width; scape as long as its apical width; pedicel half of its apical width; segment 3 shorter than 4 as 4:5; clypeus (Fig. 3) roundly incised up to 1/3 of its medial length; labrum broader than long as 3:2, slightly deflexed rounded anterior margin; LID:IDMO:EL = 2:2:1; malar space 1.5 times the diameter of median ocellus; postgenal carina absent; hind orbits not carinated; supraclypeal area triangularly raised; supraclypeal pit deep and well marked. Supraantennal pit shallow; frontal area raised above the level of eyes, supraantennal tubercles and frontal ridges insignificant; median fovea in form of pit in its raised anterior part and posteriorly not reaching median ocellus; post-, inter- and circumocellar furrows indistinct; lateral furrows shallow and abruptly ending well before hypothetical hind margin of head; postocellar area subconvex, broader than long as 3:2; with a median longitudinal furrow, head parallel behind eyes; POL:UOL:OCL:UCL = 1:1:1:1; mesoscutellum subconvex; appendage neither carinated nor grooved; tarsal claw (Fig. 18) with a subapical tooth subequal to apical one, basal lobe absent; hind basitarsus shorter than following 3 joints
