The number of specimens of each species collected at the examined localities is given in Table 1. Lipara lucens is the most common species of all. It was found in 1601 galls, repre­senting almost half of the samples. Most of them came from the quite dry reed stands of the Hortobágy National Park (451 specimens) and the Fertő-Hanság National Park (381 specimens). They were present in all but one of the 26 examined localities. Most of the galls (1506 specimens) were from the previous year, thus are called "one-year-old" galls.
