MICROTYPINAE MICROTYPUS Ratzeburg, 1848 The genus is the single representative of the subfamily Microtypinae in Europe. Further two genera (Neomicrotypus: Neotropics, Plesiotypus: Old World tropics) of this subfamily were discovered and described recently by Van Achterberg (1992). - From among the four Microtypus species two occur also in Hungary, both species are rare in our country. A modern taxonomic-systematic revision of the four Microtypus species was published by Capek & Van Achterberg (1992).
