Fig. 1. Hydropsyche rakshakaha n. sp.: A = male genitalia lateral, B = dorsal soapical paired process which is accompained with an additional small projection at their outer basis. In dorsal aspect the dorsoapical processes incurving and enclosing an almost oval excision. Clasper stout, basal segment with straight ventrum but dorsum widening apicad and basad, caudal segment broad blade-like in lateral aspect with characteristic filiform ending. Phallotheca with stepwise configuration, gradually narrowing. Paired phallotremal sclerites exposed dorsad and subtriangular, the membraneous endothecal process well developed tipped by a heavily sclerotized long and curving spine, ventral endothecal lobe bulbous its eversible lobules hardly visible except sclerous spicules inverted on their tips. This is a typical species of the pending Symphitopsyche taxon closely relating to H. ardens McLachlan, but its dorsal processes on the tenth tergum and the blade-like and filiform ending of the caudal clasper segment, as well as the strongly curving spines tipping the endothecal process are different. I named the species after the guard of the valley; rakshakaha in sanscrit.
