S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 55. (Budapest, 1994)

Light greenish-olivaceous. Whitish hypoderrnal pattern distinct mostly in centre and at sides of scutum and on scutellum at anterior margin centrally. Length M 3.7-4.2 mm. Comparison. Male genitalia resemble those of E. (M.) schima Thapa. Penis stem in the new species broad basally and smooth on its ventral margin in profile (Fig. 123), in posterior view broadened terminally (Fig. 124) while in E. (M.) schima it is equally broad in both aspects. Anal tube appendage in E. conifera thin, regularly curved with apices directed cephalad (Figs 125-127); in E. (D.) schima it is slightly curved in apical 1/3 with apices directed cephalo-ventrad. Apical broadening of ventral pygofer appendage in the former is rhomboid, adorned with minute furrows and delicately serrated at margin (Figs 129, 130); in the latter it is lanceolate and coarsely sculptured submarginally. Empoasca (Matsumurasca) latissima sp. n. (Figs 131-139) Type material. - Holotype male: Sikkim, Rumtek, 1700 m, lamp domes, 1990, I. Dworakowska (in SMTD). - Paratypes: 4 M, same data as the holotype (in SMTD, NMNH, HNHM). Upper side of body beige with an olivaceous tint. Vertex sometimes slightly ochre. Face light greenish-olivaceous. Distinct whitish hypodermal pattern at base of vertex, anterior margin of pronotum, centre and sides of scutum and along anterior margin of scutellum. Sometimes whole upper side of body yellowish-ochre but face always lighter and hypodermal pattern present. Length M 3.6-3.8 mm. Comparison. Male genitalia resemble those of E. (M.) conifera sp. n., especially the anal tube appendage (Figs 133, 134) but penis stem broader in posterior view (Fig. 135) and termination of ventral pygofer appendage different (Figs 136, 137). Empoasca (Matsumurasca) parvifacia sp. n. (Figs 140-151) Type material. - Holotype male: India, W Bengal, Kurseong, [1500 m], 10-26. IX. 1909, Lynch (in BMNH). - Paratypes: 3 M, Sikkim, Rumtek, 1700 m, lamp domes, 1990; 1 F, Rumtek, 1800 m, 6. III; 1 M, 4 F, W Sikkim, Pelling, 2000 m, 10. III; 1 F, Pelling, 2000 m., 11. III. 1991,1. Dworakowska (in SMTD, NMNH, HNHM). Greenish-yellow with olivaceous tint on fore wing and olivaceous-ochre on upper side of head and thorax. Face ochre apically, greenish basally. Anteclypeus of male (but not that of female) dilated basally (Fig. 151) more than in other species of the subgenus. Fore wing slightly smoked apically. Length M 3.70-4.00; F 3.85-4.00 mm. Male genitalia unique in the subgenus. Penis stem very short (Fig. 147), angulately descending into manubrium (Fig. 148). Anal tube appendage very short (Figs 142, 143). Ventral pygofer appendage almost straight, lanceolate terminally, adorned with sculpture of minute hairs subterminally (Figs 141, 142), delicately serrated on ventral side at apex. Basal abdominal apodemes short (Fig. 150), reaching end of 4 abdominal sternite; in other species of the subgenus usually reaching end of 5 abdominal sternite.
