Kovács (Received January 5, 1993) The larva collection of Odonata of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. - Authors present the data of the larva collection of Odonata deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum. Introduction There is a real gap in the records of dragonfly larvae in Hungary. That is why the authors decided to collect, revise and publish all data of the available collections referring to Hungary. The present review deals with the larva collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest preserved in alcohol collected in the recent area of Hungary. The collection is stored now in formalin. The authors have studied the whole collection, determined and revised the earlier determinations. Some 20 % of the collection had earlier been determined but it also needed revision. When determining the material we used the works of Askew (1988), Bánkuti (1993), Carchini ( 1983), De Marmels ( 1975), Franke (1979), Gardner ( 1954), Heymer-Plattner (1969), Laister (1991), Müller (1990), Peter (1987), Von Hägen (1990). This work contains the records of 1734 individuals of 37 species. The collectors' names are written out in full except for „SH" representing H. Steinmann. We are grateful to Dr. Gy.
