Some Oedemeridae (Coleoptera) from North Korea* By V. Svihla and O. Merkl (Received July 1, 1991) Some Oedemeridae (Coleoptera) from North Korea - Locality data of 9 species of Oedemeridae are listed from North Korea. Six species are new for the Korean fauna. With 4 figures. Scarcely anything is known about the oedemerid fauna of the Korean Peninsula. What means available information is only a modest number of short references scattered throughout the literature. The goal of the present paper is to provide data toward a better knowledge of the Korean fauna as well as of the distribution of the Far Eastern oedemerid species. This study is based essentially on the material amassed by the expeditions of the Hungarian Natural History Museum (HNHM) to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The material examined has represented 9 species, 6 of which are recorded from Korea for the first time. The specimens are deposited in the Coleoptera Collection of the HNHM unless otherwise stated. Identification was made by the senior author while the manuscript was compiled by the junior author. List of localities All the HNHM specimens studied have a locality number (Loc.No.) on their labels. These refer to the numbered lists published in the reports on the HNHM expeditions by Dely & Dely-Draskovits (1978), Forró & Ronkay (1983), Mahunka & Steinmann (1971), Merkl & Szél (1989), Papp & Horvatovich (1972), Papp & Vojnits (1976) and Vojnits & Zombori (1987). The subsequent list provides all relevant information belonging to the locality numbers mentioned in the "List of species". For the sake of completeness, the name of the species collected in the particular localities have also been added. The collecting trips followed more or less the same route but the transliteration of the localities may be quite different in the reports and accordingly, on the labels. In this list, however, the geographical names are given according to the unified transliteration system published by Vojnits & Zombori (1979) Loc.No. 52.
