FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LU (1991) 1992 p. 5-8 Two new Staphylinid species from Hungary (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) By L. Adám (Received June 20, 1991) Two new Staphylinid species from Hungary (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae). - Pseudocypus serotinus sp. n. and Dinaraea petraea sp. n. are described from Hungary, from the Bükk National Park. I have identified the material of Staphylinidae collected in the Bükk National Park and I have found the following new species. Pseudocypus serotinus sp. n. In general appearance similar to other Pseudocypus species, particularly to Pseudocypus fulvipennis (Erichson, 1840) Body somewhat flattened; head and pronotum smooth, finely and densely punctate, elytra coriaceous, abdomen finely coriaceous; head, pronotum and elytra with weak, metallic shine, abdomen almost dull; pitch-black in colour, antennae, palpi and legs brownish red. Head rounded quadrangular, weakly transverse, smooth; punctuation fine and dense. Eyes barely convex, barely longer than temple. Antennae moderately short, barely widening toward apex. Pronotum quadrangular, subequal in length and width, nearly parallel-sided; posterior angles rounded. Lateral margins with four setigerous punctures. Pronotal punctuation fine, dense and homogeneous; median longitudinal line impunctate over its whole length. Elytra weakly widening posteriorly, shorter than pronotum; suture half of length of pronotum; surface coriaceous. Posterior margin of elytra almost straight; outer posterior angles not emarginate. Abdomen weakly widening posteriorly; tergites finely coriaceous; pubescence dense, more or less unicoloured, glistening dark brown. Posterior margin of tergite VII not bordered by a pellicle. Posterior margin of tergite VIII rounded. Posterior margin of sternite VIII weakly emarginate (male) or rounded (female). Legs moderately long; tarsal formula 5, 5, 5. Aedeagus: Figs. 1-3. Length: 14-16 mm. Type material: holotype (female): Hung., Bükki N. P., Szilvásvárad, Keskeny-rét, 850 m, Aconito-Fagetum sylvaticae, korhadt fából [from decayed wood], 1981. IX. 24., leg. Ádám L. and Hámori E; paratype (male; head strongly damaged by Anthrenus): [Romania], Nagyenyed, Őr-hegy, 1917. VIII. 8., leg. Bíró L.; paratype (female): [Romania], Hunyad megye, leg. Frivaldszky J. The types are deposited in the Zoological Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum.
