terpretation, including all the four species mentioned above: C. auripennis Saunders, C. longueti Théry, "C.obsoleta Blair" and C. bedoci Théry) (I have never seen C. taitina Kerremans or C. similis Kerremans - they surely belong also here, but seem to be synonymous with the preceding two). The representatives of this subgenus are above green with coppery tips of elytra sometimes this coppery colouration extends all along the sides ("C. obsoleta Blair", some specimens of C. bedoci Théry) or over almost all the elytral surface (C. auripennis Saunders); their underside is either also green with yellow (C. longueti Théry) or coppery (C. auripennis Saunders) apical part of abdomen, or all the ventral surface is coppery (the Marquesan forms); tarsi and antennae are non-metallic, usually yellow (brown in C. longueti Théry); elytral apex with sharp, prominent suturai denticle. None of these features is reliably diagnostic by itself - each being present here or there among the species of the nominative subgenus - but as a set they give Guamia Théry a decidedly peculiar aspect.
