The types of Chalcidoidea described by Hungarian authors, preserved in the Hungarian Natural History Museum By Cs. Thuróczy (Received December 1, 1991) Hie types of Chalcidoidea described by Hungarian authors, preserved in the Hungarian Natural History Museum. - The type specimens of 549 species of Chalcidoidea described by Hungarian authors in the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest have been examined. Types of 31 species are lost. Lectotypes are described for 124 nominal species-group taxa. 126 names are synonymised by various authors at the time. The second part of the revisionary work by Dr. M.W.R de V. Graham Tetrastichinae (Eulophidae) appeared simultaneously with this contribution, consequently, some Tetrastichinae species may by listed without junior synonymy. The following is a catalogue of the primary types of the Chalcidoidea: Leucospidae, Torymidae, Eurytomidae, Ormyridae, Pteromalidae, Eupelmidae, Encyrtidae, Aphelinidae, Signiphoridae, Eulophidae, Tetracampidae and Mymaridae which are housed in the Hungarian Natural History Museum (HNHM). These species are listed in alphabetical order by specific name under their families. The list of primary types is followed by a list of references, which includes all pertaining papers. The reference to the original description is given for each type followed by the sex of the type, HNHM No., data of the label - location, date of collection, host, country, collector - number of paratypes (females and males) described by originally and presence in HNHM collection with 'type' numbers. A species that has been synonymised (or transfercd to a different genus, is indicated as follows:pratense Erdős, 1945 c: 138 (Cerycium) = Anastatus bifasciatus (Fourcroy, 1785) Boucek, 1970:80. Notes. The present contribution is the result of three years of research and checking the data of 5322 Chalcidoidea type specimens according to the original description. The presently known number of holotypes, lectotypes and 'cotypes' is 3802. In future elaborations further type specimens may come forward.
