S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 51. (Budapest, 1990)

On the tarsus of leg I three pairs of setae (it, p>, p_a) and seta s_ eupathidia. On femur I a short distal spine also present. Seta d on tibiae II-IV not coupled v/ith the solenidium. Synichotritia caroli Walker, 1965 I had the opportunity to study some paratypes kindly, sent to me by Dr. R. Norton (U.S.A.). Although the original descriptions of Dr. N.A.' Walker are very thorough, some complementary data are thought to be important. Gnathosoma: Palp 5-segmented, with setal formula: 0-2-0-2-8+1. Coxisternal region (Fig.41): Epimeral setal formula: 3 ( 2 )-1-2 ( 3 )-2 ( 3 ) . The variability of the studied specimens was very strong. Setae la are often represented only by their alveoli, or on one side only, asymmetrically. Setae 3a and 4c. are often completely reduced. All setae - excepting setae la and 2a well ciliate . Anogenital region: Tectum kag well observable, very strong, a ditch with two sutures before them also well visible. 10 pairs of genito-aggenital setae arising on the anterior part of the plates, four pairs of them arising behind the kag , six pairs before it. The presence of the aggenital setae is uncertain. Six pairs of setae are in ano-adanal position, 3 pairs being shorter, than the others . Legs: Setal formulae: I: 1-3-5+2-5+1-20+3-3 II: 1-3-4+1-5+1-15+2-3 III: 2-2-3+1-3+1-13-3 IV: 2-2-2-3+1-11-3 Synichotritia spinulosa Walker, 1965 Gnathosoma: Palp 4-segmented, with setal formula: 0-2-2-8+1. Anogenital region: Tectum kag similar to the previous species. The position of the setae also similar, But the two pairs of lateral setae are shorter than in S. caroli. Seven pairs of ano-adanal setae present, all with finely serrated edge . Sabahtritia hauseri Mahunka, 1987 Aspis: Lateral carina begins from the middle part of the bothridium and runs steeply to the lateral margin. Lateral rim very short, observable only along the basal part. Dorsolateral part with small tubercles. Bothridial squama situated behind and partly above the trichobothrium. Laterocentral apodeme very long, sinus line also well observable. Two pairs of exobothridial setae present . Gnathosoma: Supracoxal seta (elm ) short and originate very far posteriorly. Palp 4-segmented, with setal formula: 2-2-9+1. Anogenital region: Tectum kag very strong, 5 pairs of setae arising before it, one of them is in aggenital position. Behind it one pair of very strong setae in paraxial, and one pair of strong setae in antiaxial (aggenital) position . Notogaster: Cerotegument consist of small granules; they are pustulate or spiniform. Three pairs of lyrifissures (ia, im, ijo) are observable, I could not see either the glandula or the insertiorTtbf the vestigial (II* f2' setae. Temburongia patoi sp.n. Measurements. - Length of aspis: 180-276 urn, length of notogaster: 276448 urn, height of notogaster: 197-335 urn . Aspis: Whole surface finely granulate. Three pairs of strong, sabre-shap ed, distinctly spiculate and one pair (ex) of thin, simple prodorsal setae pre sent. Sensillus long, stick-shaped. Notogaster: Whole surface covered by a cerotegument layer mostly of gran ales imitating alveoli. Lyrifissures ia and im present; other lyrifissures ab sent(?) .
