VIII. DESCRIPTIONS* AND COMPLEMENTARY DESCRIPTION OF SOME SPECIES Berndotritia bulbifer Mahunka, 1988 Gnathosoma: Hypostom with 3 pairs of long setae (h, a, m). Setae e_lm_ arising on conspicuously large protuberances. Palps four-segmented , with the setal formula: 0-2-2-9+1. Notogaster: Only three pairs of lyrifissures are observable, ih and ip_ absent . Legs: Setal formulae: I: 1-4-5+2-5+1-21+3-3 II: 1-4-4+1-4+1-18+2-3 III: 3-2-3+1-3+1-14-3 IV: 3-2-2+1-3+1-12-3 Bukitritia timah sp . n. Measurements. - Length of aspis: 177-181 urn, length of notogaster: 310330 urn, height of notogaster: 191-196 urn. Aspis: One strong lateral carina present on either sides, both are fused with the lateral rim. Prodorsal setae - excepting ex - strong, erect, blunt at tip; their distal end with some strong spicules. Sensillus short, with a dilate head . Notogaster: Fourteen pairs of mostly erect and strong, some others thinner and arcuate notogastral setae present. All setae blunt at tip and spiculate, similar to prodorsal setae. Anogenital region: Genital and aggenital setae minute, sometimes hardly observable . Legs: All legs monodactylous, claws large with small ventral teeth. The legs chaetotaxy is of the "reduced type" with setal formulae: Is 1-3-4+2-4+1-12+3-1 lis 1-3-3+1-4+1-10+2-1 Ills 2-2-2+1-3+1-9-1 IV: 2-1-1-2+1-9-1 Material examined: Holotype: Singapore, Bukit Timah Reserve, D 11-2; 1 paratype: from the same sample; 1 paratype: same locality, D-ll-9 . Holotype and 1 paratype: MHNG, 1 paratype: HNHM. Remarks: On the basis of the short and well-dilated sensillus and the blunt interlamellar setae, the new species is well distinguished from all its congeners . Pocsia af ricana Mahunka, 1983 Coxisternal region: Epimeral setal formula: 3-1-2-2 (Fig .23). In the length of epimeral setae great differences exist. Gnathosoma: Hypostom strongly narrowed anteriorly, setae h_ longer than m or a_. Palp 3-segmented, with setal formula: 2-2-8+1. Seta d on palpal tibia conspicuously strong, thick, with sharp, aciculate distal end. Both setae of chelicera short, spiniform. Legs: All legs tridactylous**, strong heterodactyly present. Setal formula: Is 1-3-5+2-5+1-17+3-3 lis 1-4-3+1-5+1-16+2-3 Ills 2-2-2+1-2+1-12-3 IV: 2-1-1+1-2+1-10-3 i-lore detailed descriptions will be given in other publications: Mahunka, 1991a, b. **>In the original description of the genus the monodactylous legs were mentioned. In this genus both types (mono- and tridactylous form) are present; the type of the genus is tridactylous!
