Synichotritia Walker, 1965 Synichotritia Walker, 1965: 88. Synichotritia Grandjean, 1967: 247. Type species: Synichotritia caroli Walker, 1965. Type deposited: USNM, 2iâ2û2ËiSi Aspis low, median crista absent, lateral carina present. Bothridial squama situated above the trichobothrium. Posterior median apodeme present, laterocentral apodeme long. Sinus line present. Rostral setae arising far from the rostrum, lamellar setae comparately far from each other. Notogaster very wide, boat-shaped, with terminal sinus. Anogenital plates completely fused Kag carina very strong. Genital <+aggenital) setae arranged in two anterior groups, close to the kag tectum, more or less in transversal position. Palp 4-5segmented. Its setal formula: 0-2-0-2-8+1. Legs tridactylous, with tarsal neotrichy . Elementary_chaetotaxy^ A:5, N:14, Ly:5, G (+Ag ): 10, A:3, Ad: 3-4. Sabahtritia Mahunka, 1987 Sabahtritia Mahunka, 1987: 783. Type species: Sabahtritia hauseri Mahunka, 1987. Type deposited: MHNG. Diagnosis: Aspis wide, low; notogaster wide, boat-shaped. Median carina absent, lateral carina present. Bothridial squama situated above the bothridium. Posterior median apodeme, long laterocentral apodeme and sinus line present Notogaster with a terminal sinus. Genito-aggenital and ano-adanal plates completely fused. Genital (and aggenital) setae originating in antiaxial position, along transversal lines. Palp 4-segmented, with the setal formula: 0-2-2-9+1. Legs monodactylous. Solenidia on tarsus II without coupled setae, genu IV without solenidium. Seta d_ on tarsus IV very long, not coupled with the solenidium. Trochanters III and IV with 2 setae each. Elementary_chaetotaxy2__A: 5 , N:14, Ly:3, G (+Ag) : 7 (5 + 2?), An: 3, Ad: 3. Temburongia gen.n. Type species: Temburongia patoi sp.n.* Type deposited: MHNG. Diagnosis: Aspis with two pairs of median and one pair of divided lateral cristae. One short lateral carina and a sinus line on both sides observable. Rostral setae originating far from the rostrum, lamellar setae located in lateral position. Bothridial squama situated above the bothridium. Posterior median apodeme strong. Notogaster with wide ventral lobes, they touch medially and originate between the genital and anal plates. Genital and aggenital as well as anal and adanal plates completely fused with each other, respectively. Genital (or aggenital) setae arising transversally , ano-adanal setae originating longitudinally. Palp 4-segmented, its setal formula: 0-1-2-9+1. Seta sul minute . Legs monodactylous . §iË m ËQtary_chaetotaxy_!. A:4, N:14, Ly:2 ? , G:7, Ag:0, An:5(6), Ad: 0. Remarks: On the basis of the above features the new taxon is very far from all distinct groups of the superfamily Euphthiracaroidae . Consequently, the erection of a new family is inevitable. Temburongiidae fam. n. Type genus: Temburongia gen.n. Diagnosis: Notogaster boat-shaped, with two medially touching ventral lobes. They separate the genito-aggenital and ano-adanal plates. The plates are fused, the suture between the two genito-aggenital plates is absent. Genital setae arising in transversal rows. 'The description of the new species is given on p. 71.
