Treeless alpine vegetation; surface continuously covered by dwarf shrubs (Rhododendron, Salix rotundifolia), perennial herbs (Aster, Dryas, Aquilegia, Papaver, Erigeron, etc. ) and mosses. Nearly vegetationless, rocky slopes and tops of the mountain, with fragmentary patches of grass, lichens and Salix rotundifolia.
